NEIL M. ROBERTSON,
Q.C.
Neil Robertson, who grew up in Nelson, Fernie and
Cranbrook, is a senior trial lawyer who has sat on both the Executive
and the Board of Governors of the Trial Lawyers Association of British Columbia. He
has been a member of the Ontario Bar since 1974 and a member of the British Columbia Bar
since 1975. He was appointed a Queen's Counsel in 1990.
He graduated from Queen's University with honours in 1968 and from Osgoode Hall
Law School in the top 10% of his class in 1972.
He initially articled and practiced with Blake Cassels and Graydon in Toronto. He
then joined Davis & Company in Vancouver. His love of trial work later caused
him to become a senior crown counsel in Vancouver, prosecuting a wide variety of cases.
Since 1980, Neil has practiced law in Cranbrook, B.C. His practice is confined
to civil and criminal litigation. Particular areas of interest and experience
include serious personal injury cases, employment law, disputes involving municipalities
and other governments, corporate disputes, land claims, defense of various criminal cases,
and other civil and criminal matters.
For 25 years Neil has handled a wide variety of major cases. His personal injury
files have involved brain injury, fibromyalgia, amputations, severe soft tissue injuries,
knee damage and related matters including both I.C.B.C. and out-of-province insurance
coverage. He has never lost a personal injury case.
Neil has delivered papers, seminars and lectures to both the public and the legal
profession on the law of evidence, criminal procedure, matrimonial law, personal
injury

Neil is married to Alison. He has three children. Apart from his legal
practice, he is a former professional ski instructor and has interests in scuba diving,
motorcycling, upland bird hunting, and is considered a gourmet cook!
Neil has appeared in mediations, arbitrations, review boards, the Provincial Court, the
Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal in cases that have taken him to all parts of
British Columbia. He enjoys tough cases with tough issues and has a very high
success rate. Neil is a highly experienced legal counsel who is known for his
thorough, detailed and persuasive presentations.
